Artist History
On Lisa is a Marin based Rock/Funk band. They have their roots in a band called Much than More, in which Adam, Alex, and Scott all played. Much than More's debut show was slated for the December 2nd battle of the bands, at the Great American Music Hall. About 2 weeks before the show, the singer, Conrad, left the band. Not wanting to pass up the opportunity to play such a good show, Alex, Scott, and Adam found drummer James Reynolds, who Alex and Scott had played with in previous bands. They went by the name of "On Lisa." After playing a couple shows with James, they decided that things weren't working out. He was quickly replaced by their current drummer, Aaron Nemoyten. After being together for about 4 months, they decided it was time to start work on their first cd. Thus birthed the 2002 release "Just Add Water."
"Just Add Water" mainly consisted of funk songs with catchy hooks, with some emo and rock blended in. Andrew Capra from "Halfway to Nowhere" played sax on this release. Knowing that Andrew could not be a permanent member, On Lisa set out to find a permanent horn player. They tried out a few, and then came across David Gorgani, a trumpet player. They jammed a few times, and things clicked. He was then added to the line up. After playing a few shows with them, David announced that he was leaving for a one year internship in Washington D.C. But, he decided to stay in the band, and begin playing with them upon his return.
Currently, On Lisa is in the process of recording their full-length sophomore effort. The band now consists of: Adam Bialik, Alex Lasner, Scott Funkhouser, Aaron Nemoyten, and David Gorgani. They hope to continue sharing the music they love with everyone.
