Artist History
The macabre, clandestine corporation known as Bleeding Inc. was established in February of 2001. Its founding members, Anthony "devo" DiVigenze, Bill "B." Cowgill, and Elden Santos, found themselves creatively limited within the restraints of their former rap core outfit Quasimofo and decided to explore and expand on their pent-up aggression under a new moniker. Thus Bleeding Inc. was born and much like a festering, hemorrhaging afterbirth, their music would be no less disturbing. Immediately after severing ties with their former vocalist, the three would begin forming the blueprint for which the music would take shape. The band’s mission statement would be simple: Destroy all competitors with a lethal mix of heaviness, melody, and originality. Combining elements of all forms of heavy music, i.e. heavy metal, punk rock, alternative rock, death metal, and even grindcore, Bleeding Inc.’s music incorporates a piece of each genre to create an aural assault that can be matched by few. For months the new 3-piece would rehearse intensely, creating a raw four-song demo that blistered listeners’ ears with its unique, unexpectedly polished sound. Unfortunately the 4 songs were only instrumentals as a vocalist still needed to be secured. After multiple potential singers auditioned followed by 2 months of critical reviewing by the band, a new vocalist was brought into the fold. In November of 2001, Tom Schreiber would be the chosen one and he would bring a whole new dimension to the band’s aural fury. Playing with such bands as Bloodshot UK, Taint, and Suffer System, Tom developed a vocal style that would mesh perfectly with Bleeding Inc. Extensive live experience was also evident, as all members have played shows in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware, and Connecticut. With the pieces complete, the band set out to re-record its 5-song demo in January of 2002, this time with Tom’s scathing vocals in place. To many eager listeners surprise, the demo showed a tightness and maturity that belied the band’s relatively short time together. From Anthony’s melodically evil crushing riffs to Bill’s intricate and devastating bass patterns, the EP attracted much interest within the tri-state area. With a strong demo and an intense live show that rivals those of the most successful bands, Bleeding Inc. remains poised to make a bloody mark in the realm of heavy music. |
