    Artist History
The Phillips brothers grew up in their Glendale, Arizona home playing various instruments, so their dad converted a small shed for them to play in. They've grown up and moved out, so Dad decides to sell the equipment. Oldest brother Zack decides to record a few of his songs before the equipment is gone. Zack drops off a tape of his songs at a local Alternative radio station. The program director instantly recognizes incredible potential, and quits his job to manage him. Zack asks his brothers Nathan & Ben, plus their friend Randy Stowe to join him to form a band. They do, and eventually call it zpb. zpb makes its mark on the Phoenix music scene, including high-profile concerts and small club gigs. Bigger shows include sidestage for Sting, Live, Dave Mathews Band, Alanis Morissette, Garbage, Goo Goo Dolls, and No Doubt, and opening for Candlebox, Marcies Playground, Refreshments, Ben Folds Five, and Dogstar. The band gets invited to South By Southwest in Austin. zpb releases their self-produced debut CD ‘Unstained’ in August 1998, where it remains a best Arizona seller. zpb is currently in studio recording and producing new material for a 4-song CD, to be followed by release of their second full CD in Y2K.
