Artist History
The Zookeepers was formed in 1992 as a 3-piece folk-rock band, fronted by singer-songwriter Patrick Vernon. In early 1994, the group was nominated as one of the top 5 unsigned bands in Los Angeles. Soon after, the Zookeepers released its first CD. In the fall of '94, the band embarked on its first west coast tour, performing 20 shows at colleges and nightclubs in California, Oregon and Washington. 1995 saw the release of the group's second CD, Set Me Free. By 1997, the band was performing 100 shows a year in 8 western states, and released its 3rd CD, Leaving L.A., the title reflecting the group's traveling ethic. The Zookeepers have been invited to perform at five NACA (National Association for Campus Activities) regional conferences. The group has performed at county fairs, university campuses, municipal events, festivals and, of course, nightclubs. |

If you haven't seen a roomful of music patrons hooting and hollering like jungle beasts, you haven't seen the Zookeepers. |
