Artist History Spank S'notra was formed in the store room of an abandonded truck stop outside Chicago in the winter of 1997. Drummer Johnny Feathers and singer Raven Dracool, recently departed from the now defunct Snatchamo recruited guitarists Baron Von Fistz and the Rev. Seymour Gynski after they caught the two trying to steal equipment out of Dracool's van. Instead of turning in the would be thieves, Dracool and Feathers felt that life on the road in Spank S'notra would be better punishment. All that was left to find was a bass player. After nixing the idea of auditioning people, the group went on a long and thourough and exhausting serarch through the strip clubs, porno theatres and adult book stores of Chicago. One night they stumbled upon Pappy Apples sharing a quiet, tender moment with his bass guitar. Everyone knew that this degenerate was the man for Spank. And Spank they will. Ladies and Gentlemen, all the way to the top! Thus was formed Spank S'notra, the rock 'n roll Gods said "Let there be Spank" and there was Spank S'notra. And the Gods saw Spank S'notra and they knew that Spank was good!

Their CD "If You Are What You Eat...." is a slaming, throat grabbing, rocking debut. There is a sneaky tounge in cheek sense of humor at work here underneath some of the hardest and loudest guitar, bass and drums I've heard in a long time. "Sexy Dirty", Whiskey Dick" and the orally gratifying title song offer Spank S'notra's eclectic musical insight into one of the more basisc instincts: sex! The hard rocking ditties such as "Yeah Oh Yeah", "Bop-Bop" and "Already Dead" really pack a wallop. If you are in the mood for some good old rock and roll with a steam roller back beat, lend Spank S'notra your ears.
