Artist description
RMB is a trio that uses computers to explore new techniques in improvisation. Each player has a computer hooked up to a MIDI network and uses custom software to that determines certain aspects of the music. Logic for different software modules were decided on by the group and implemented in HMSL (Hierarchical Music Specification Language) by Robert. Each player orchestrates the MIDI data generated by the computers to suit their own style. The only exception is "The Name of the Rat Catcher" where Robert an Aric play piano and guitar respectively, while David reads the text and controls the software. |
