Artist description
Rising Shotgun's music and lyrics reflect its members' profound love of and respect for rock and roll music and its history. Literate without being literary, the band's approach reaches into remote corners of the human psyche, treating all of them--even the darker ones--with an elan that is rarely matched in contemporary popular music. |

Artist History
Rising Shotgun's first rehearsal was held in Louisville, KY on Bob Dylan's 50th birthday. Its first appearance on Independence Day of the same year inaugurated a nine-month series of concerts that are remembered fondly by the band's oldest fans. Not prolific in terms of recording, the band has issued only two songs on Louisville and Chicago record labels in the years since. A new line-up will record a full-length CD in Chicago during August 1999. |
