Artist History
Cindy and the band first got together in 1993. They have been on a journey ever since, as they have been discovering their musical roots in both Maori and Pakeha styles, modern and traditional. It has been their delight to discover that God is far bigger than the musical, rythmical and sound boxes that we as people put Him in! |

Press Reviews
The word Tara has various meanings, some of which include: courage, peak, rough, birth canal. They chose the name 'Tara' that people could draw courage from what they hear and that the sound of war unique to Aotearoa/New Zealand will be heard once again in the land. In this the second CD release, Cindy Ruakere and her band seek to capture this sound in locally composed and arranged original songs. |
