Artist History
The Depraved started humbly in Granada Hills,
California, of 2000 Where George Tapia (vocals)
brought the band together; Jesse on guitar,
Mike on drums, Tyler on bass, and a few other
faces that didn't seem to stick. They underwent
a barrage of name-changes, too many to mention.
They then went under the name "The No-Shows" for
a period, which was coincidental since they never
actually played any shows under that name due to
the events of life. However, after creative
differences, George was asked to leave the group
and Jesse reluctantly took over as leadman. They
then went under the name "Defective End" which
finally evolved to "The Depraved". For about a
year they played within the Sylmar punk scene,
which proved to be quite promising at the time,
along with other bands such as N*A*D and
Intermind. However, due to ambiguous
circumstances, The Depraved disbaned in the Fall
of 2001.
They were renowned for keeping their style
strictly old skool like the punk of yesteryears,
simple 3 chord songs with fast drum beats and
angry lyrics. The song "Ghetto Blaster" was their
most popular song and proves to be an example
of the energy of the late Depraved. |
