Artist History
Test Drive Fiction had its genesis in September, 2001. Jared and Phil, who had both recently
left their former band, started jamming together. Seeing that the music had potential
to lead into something greater than playing in Phil's basement suite living room, they
decided to add more members to fill out the band. First was Mark, whom Phil had played
with in another band. TDF needed a singer to compete in battle of the bands, and
Myke was called. All the other members had seen Myke perform before in another band,
and knew he was perfect for the part. They named themselves Edgemont, and proceeded
to lose the battle of the bands. After a horrible realization that CBC had just released
a shockingly pathetic teen soap opera called Edgemont, the band decided the name
had to be changed. Then they didn't do anything until January 2002. After they decided
on the new name, Test Drive Fiction, they started practicing in earnest, and had recorded
3 songs to be released in Febuary before they had even played their second show.
Fueled by the reactions they have received from their audiences, and their quickly
growing fan base, they have been playing more and more shows recently, and don't
show any signs of slowing down any time soon |
