We are a 6 piece horn driven Blues/Rock band. We have a very diverse
group of players with influences from Blues, Classic Rock, Jazz, Funk and
even classical training. Our goal is to create music that has a driving rhythm under-current
that allows our lead players to play a variety of styles over this base.
We strive to make our music fun and interesting at the same time. |

Press Reviews
By Jennifer Layton: Indie-Music.com
In their press materials, Sparky Parks and the Aardvarks
say they're as much fun to watch as they are to listen to.
Just from the astonishing keyboard playing alone on this
blues/jazz/funk CD, I believe it. The piano player must have
five or six hands. He is all over the keyboard on tracks like "Hey
Little Girl." There also must be smoke pouring off the horn section
because those guys are on fire.
"Rise Above It" contained good old fashioned, horn driven jazzy blues
with all the spirited fun of the Blues Brothers. The Title track has attitude
and "Boise Ain't Chicago" is an example of pure blues lyrics set to jazz instead
of the standard blues riff. This music has spunk. It also has humour, as shown
by the gossipy phone call intro to "Crazy Talk."
My Favorite tracks are the slower ones like "You Musta Forgot" and "Fillin in
the Blanks."... I love how the vocalists voice gets cool and seductive. The
sax also wails and moans on these tracks. Beautifully done.. |
