Artist description
Product Of Oppression plays "old school" style punk rock. "We try to stay away from the poppy emo crap that seems to be so popular around Maryland lately," says guitarist The J. The group's diverse blend of fast tempos, signature guitar solos, intense percussion and each member's ingrained musical background all culminate to create a reminiscent punk rock sound unique to their scene. "Simply put," says bassist The Jon, "The Pearl is a metal drummer; so put The J's complete authority of guitar on top of that, plus my constant pissed-off mood, and you've got Product." |

Artist History
The J and The Jon formed Product Of Oppression in August of 2000, with The J as the lead guitarist and The Jon on rhythm. January of the following year, The Jon picked up the bass. The two recorded numerous tracks without a full time drummer that year, including "Obnoxious," "Problems" and "Knowledge," which are featured on the original Product Of Oppression demo. In November of 2001, The Pearl was recruited as the band's drummer. In February of 2002, the band's second full demo, shrewdly entitled "Number Two," was recorded with Nathanial Perry of Dano Producktions. The second release featured the band's newest song, "Home Sweet Home," as well as secondary recordings of previously released songs such as "Don't Drag Me Down" and "Prison Bound." The band's most recent release, "Demo," recorded by Susan Esserwein in September of 2002, features three demo recordings of tracks appearing on the band's upcoming EP. This third demo brings the bands newest songs, "Product Of Society," "No Need" and "Trendy," to their audience and is available for purchase. The three tracks can also be found on mp3.com. |
