Artist History
Lucie Mayer has been an active soloist in Montreal’s chamber and choral music community for more than a decade. Her recent accomplishments include traveling to Austria as a guest of the Classical Music Festival of Eisenstadt and performing Haydn’s Nelson Mass and Beethoven’s Mass in C, as well as the music of several noted Québec composers.
Her recent explorations of the operatic repertoire have included the roles of Sorceress in "Dido and Aeneas" (Purcell) with Opéra Bouffe du Québec, Frau Mary in Vancouver opera’s production of "Der Fliegende Hollander" (Wagner), Baba in "The Medium" (Menotti) with Université de Montreal.
A student of Dixie Ross-Neill for the last two years, Lucie is now a full time student in the Artist Diploma program at McGill as well as a Part-time voice teacher at Vanier College and maintains a private studio. Lucie was pleased to present her first Verdi role as Mistress Quickly in "Falstaff" with the 88-piece McGill Symphony Orchestra, and will soon be appearing with them agai n as Mother Goose in Stravinsky's "The Rake's Progress".s |
