Artist History
Antidote is a guitar-based rock group with an eclectic range of influences, from country to jazz to hard rock. The band is based in Edmonton, Alberta, where the members live. We play mostly original material, though some covers are always fun.
The band was formed in the fall of 2001 when Corey Gitzel (Guitars, Vocals), Andrew Foster (Drums), Ryan Congdon (Guitars, Vocals), and Justin Litun (Bass, Vocals), began jamming with the ultimate intention of writing original material and gigging locally. All of the members of the band had been friends for some time before the band was started, some playing in other bands with each other before forming Antidote.
Thusfar we have recorded a self-produced demo tape, as well as a 5-song self titled CD. As for gigs, we have played at the University of Alberta's Battle of the Bands and at the Farside Lounge.
Come check us out if you have a chance, and let us know what you think. And no matter where you are, please go and support local independent bands as much and as often as you can. None of us can do it without your help.
