Artist History
Began creating electronic music in '87 with an
Ensoniq ESQ-1 workstation and a cassette recorder.
After years of trying to find an outlet, he started
attending Communion at the Limelight and discovered
the Industrial scene, which led to Techno and
House. Ultimately distracted with clubs, Andy found
an open doorway into the underground party scene
and after settling in, he started performing
as "Anodyne" in '93 and eperimented with many
different forms of House and Trance.
Looking to expand his creative experience,
Andy found inspiration in modern jazz and
electronic, starting Lunar Deep with
Tim Wagner(33Hz). Minimal marketing success
on the dying New Breed label allowed them
to reinvent themselves as Apeanaut, now on
Brooklyn-based RedBud Records.
Apeanaut allows Andy to explore the deep side
of reggae, electro-dub and hip-hop, while
maintaining a focus on progessive dance music as
Andy-A.
