SUBVERSION "Self-titled" 2002 Thrash Records
Odd that something like this would be released on a label called Thrash Records. When I think thrash, I think SLAYER, but that's me, I guess. This is a decent punk/numetal crossover. Pure punk vocals and music that degenerates into the screamy numetal style mixed with small portions of rap. Not my bag, but at least it's well done. It's got evident energy, and I like that. The songs are distinct and memorable, as well. This is a fairly original combination of sounds, too. SUBVERSION sounds like no other I've heard, which is a good thing. If you're into pop-punk or numetal, this might be something you want to check out, because if this bands keeps it up and promotes themselves, I'm sure something good will come of it.
