Artist History
Oron (pronounced Or-Own) is known throughout the United States and Canada as one of the original American 2-Step/Breakbeat Garage pioneers. Pushing the genre since 1997, Oron has introduced thousands upon thousands of club-goers and party kids to this exciting new sound! In the course of his travels, Oron has played such high profile clubs and events as Buzz (Nation/DC – The #1 Club In America – Urb Magazine), ZetaFest (Miami – Mainstream & Electronic Music Festival) and Origin (Paradox/Baltimore – The former ‘FEVER’ that started it all!). Currently, he maintains a residency at one of Baltimore’s hottest nightspots, SONAR, which is owned and operated by the nationally acclaimed Ultraworld and SonicSoul promotion groups.
Oron has been called ‘The Top US 2-Step DJ’, ‘The US 2-Step Garage Pioneer’, and even ‘The United States’ Ambassador of 2-Step Garage’, and it’s no mystery why! His expert mixing and impeccable track selection never fail to pack the dance floor and keep the crowd shouting for more!
In April of 2001, Oron was invited by Buzzlife Productions (of the world famous Buzz/DC) to mix a promotional 2-Step Garage CD (Fundamental 2-Step) for the upcoming appearance of MJ Cole and Emma Feline. The mix was an instant hit and drew an extraordinary volume of rave reviews from inside, and outside, the 2-Step scene. In fact, Fundamental 2-Step out scored most commercially available mix CDs in the June 2001 volume of Mixer Magazine! To date, over seven thousand copies of the mix are in circulation and it has even been featured on Trancemissions (99.1FM WHFS – Baltimore/DC) alongside Misstress Barbara and MJ Cole.
In the spring of 2001, with DJing under his belt, Oron began turning his attention towards production. In less than a year his tracks have grabbed the attention of some of the leading US 2-Step Garage DJs and can be heard on such on-line stations as StrikeFM (http://www.strikefm.co.uk). Oron is constantly working on new material and commercially available releases are expected in the winter of 2001/2002.
Oron’s accomplishments are impressive and varied. Some of his most recent accomplishments are listed below:
CD Released by the #1 club in America (Buzz – Nation/DC) as rated by Urb Magazine.
Resident 2-Step DJ at SONAR, run by Ultraworld and SonicSoul Productions.
Excellent mix reviews by well-known publications such as Mixer Magazine (June 2001), The Washington Times (September 2001) and URB Magazine (November 2001).
Appearances at clubs and raves across the United States and Canada.
Extraordinary volume of rave reviews for both his Form and Function and Fundamental 2-Step mixes.
Appearances on major national radio stations such as 102.1FM The Edge (Dallas, TX) and 99.1FM WHFS (Baltimore, MD).
Oron is one of the hardest working DJs in the 2-Step Garage scene. It is his dedication, hard work, and skill that have made him the best known, most respected, and most sought after 2-Step/Breakbeat Garage DJ in North America!
