    Artist History
Astrotube first formed in 1995 and comprised of ant willis, craig brown and robert parsons. A three piece fusion band, trying to explore music using various influences of the members. It produced (more or less) a pop/punk/funk sound whick soon became signature. After a succesful two years, playing to various types of audiences across much of Victoria, dwindling interest in the direction of the band (both from members and punters) led to it's ultimate demise. Now, nearly four years later, astrotube has risen from it's own ashes... an impressive mess of soaring guitars, electonics, acoustics and hidden vocal layers. The Great wall of sound is a project undertaken by brown in the post collapse void of 1999, brought about by the need to collate material for solo performances, wheremost of the band based material would not be possible. Inspired by a new way of listening, brought about in part by the involvement with melbourne based electronic / shoegazer band stereotype. Astrotube began again, this time as a more refined entity, concerned mainly with bringing new qualities to the old ideas. Although the final line-up is not yet complete, astrotube are planning on a full return to stage this year.
