Artist History
Born out of the vomit of a night's binge of cheap booze and cigarettes, Sammy Shakes burst onto the San Francisco Bay Area music scene in early 2002. With it, Sammy Shakes brought a high-powered, guitar driven attack which could kick your ass and take your money. Sammy Shakes doesn't pretend to be musical prodigies or the next coming of Nirvana. Instead, Sammy Shakes delivers rock and roll; hard, fast, and in your face. The foundation for Sammy Shakes' aural assault comes from the balls out boom of Johnny on the drums, combined with the low down, nasty, walk all over you bass lines of Zych. Dual, buzz saw guitars of Dave and Ange add to the sonic assault of your senses. Ange's in your face vocals, complemented with Zych's growling snarles and big background vocals, complete a recipe for an ass kicking that will leave you bruised and crying for more. In the Summer of 2002 Sammy Shakes released the Summer of Sam EP and a video for the single Three Words. They can be found playing clubs in the bay area when not scrounging for beer change in the back seats of there primered Cameros. Sammy Shakes is one of the rare gems of the San Francisco Bay Area music scene; a rock and roll band that actually plays rock and roll. |
