Artist description
Empyrean sky is a symphonic/melodic/progressive metal band showcasing the talents of guitarists John Welborn and Doug McAllister along with recently added members Rich Dunkel (guitar) and Tom Hendler (Bass).
We try to tell stories with the music without being boring and repetitive. Our songs are pretty long (7-10 minutes) with lots of tasteful harmonizing and rhythm changes, but without loosing a solid sense of direction.
Thematically the songs are revolving around dark sexuality/libido. The lyrics are typically in Shakespearean english, with lots of classical influences ranging from Baudelaire to Milton.
