Artist description Conceived as a fantasy band by Lead Guitarist Leo Herrera and fueled into reality by the enthusiasm of friends and family members, Caravanserai is a four year project of love and devotion. Originally a replication of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Santana's legendary early days, Caravanserai has grown to include material from all eras of Santana's 30 year history. From the 1969 hit "Evil Ways" to Monster Hit "Smooth", which is on the current world renowned and 9 time Grammy winning CD “Supernatural”, Caravanserai performs music to satisfy Santana fans young and old.

Group Members Leo Herrera- Guitar/ Vocals Bandleader Leo is a veteran guitarist and participant in many San Francisco Bay Area rock bands over the years, including Madness, Dream in Colour, Rushmore, Madhouse and Eyes on You. Having had many influences over the year s, Caravanserai is a tribute to the early years of his musical development. An avid musician, artist, dinosaur aficionado, spiritualist and hot rodder, Leo is well known for expressing himself through his guitar with flourish, fire and high drama, as well as tinkering with dinosaur sculpture and cars in his spare time. Steve Sevilla- Keyboards/Lead Vocals Steve is a prolific song writer/musician/vocalist who has contributed to many wonderful acts over the past few decades including Madness, Glide, Dre am in Colour, Rushmore, Madhouse and Eyes on You, as well as his solo project, the Steve Sevilla System. Over the years he has written many wonderful tunes some of which will be incorporated into the upcoming Caravanserai CD. A renowned Hammond organist, spiritualist, skater and dog lover, Steve performs with such physical intensity that many have thought he would reduce his Hammond B-3 to kindling. Hank Gibson- Bass/ Lead Vocals Hank is a powerful performer that audiences love to watch on stage. Havin g performed and toured with such acts as The Gangstars, Eyes on You, Dream in Colour Frankie Flame and is one of the founding member's of Caravanserai. Hank's physical exertion and showmanship have helped inspire many encores for Caravanserai since he joined the band in 1997. A profound musician, vocalist and car aficianado, Hank has created an enviable following of his own during his career. Steve Hall- Drums/Vocals Steve is a power drummer extroardinaire, getting the audiences up and on their feet from the opening beats of the first song. Over the years Steve has worked with Rise and Shine, Glide, Room With a View (with Tiran Porter), John Broadway Tucker and the Broadway Blues Band and Madhouse. An avid golfer, sports nut, family man an d heavy metalist, Steve’s rock solid beats are well known and revered for the rumble they have created throughout the West Coast. Jay Barto- Congas/Percussion A monster conguero, Jay has created a reputation for himself that goes unmatched around the B ay Area. An affiliate of latin percussion guru Jorge Bermudez, Jay has performed with Boysenberry Jam & E Ticket as well as with some of Jorge’s seminars and special events. A dedicated health nut, workout artist, Doctor of the English language as well a s a flamboyant conversationalist, Jay has been seen skating around Lake Tahoe while playing a conga drum under one arm. Frank Parise- Timbales/Percussion A true multi-percussionist, Frank spent many years as an understudy to Mingo Lewis, former memb er of Santana during the 1970’s. Hailing from New York, Frank has performed with Dimension 5, La Unidad 7, Nyle and most recently, the San Francisco Bay Area band, Full Moon. A doting father and all around great guy, Frank’s performances have left people dancing in the streets everywhere he goes.
