Artist description
Kevin Saturna is a singer/songwriter/keyboardist that focuses more on live
performance than recorded works.
Regarding this, Kevin says: "Although I have amassed many albums worth
of material, I find the perfectionist in me has never allowed them to be released
in any large scale. I guess this is because music to me is something that is at
its most precious when it is happening in the moment. When I perform live,
even though I usually prepare a set list, the energy of the show
usually takes me on an unplanned course and something entirely
new occurs. It's like something else just takes over. The recording
process doesn't allow this kind of freedom of expression, at least
not in a way that has proved satisfying to me."
While nothing can compare to what happens in a live situation, recordings
are in development and in time will begin appearing here at MP3.COM and
will be available as CD's at shows. |

Artist History
Kevin Saturna was born and raised in Eugene, OR. His father a minister, he spent long days as a child sitting around a big empty church.
His favorite place was the stage with it's big PA and microphone, and the giant church organ.
At home he had a harpsichord, and later a piano.
He began writing his own music in his pre-teen years, but had his heart set on
acting and theater. After years of musicals and plays he realized his true calling
was music. Through growing up, through everything else, in the background there
was always the hours spent at the piano - exploring, experimenting, creating,
learning.
Since 1998 Kevin has been performing at unregular intervals in his small corner of the world.
He has appeared at such venues as Jo Federigo's, John Henry's, The Nexus, Cafe Paradiso,
The Buzz Cafe, Rosewater's Deli, Hagen's, The Black Forest, The Downtown Lounge,
The Samurai Duck, and the Old Peak Jam festival.
Aside from his solo work he occasionally works with
other bands such as the African/Latin dance group "Bisila",
Avoid the Future Shadow, and Merciful Maneuver. |
