Artist History
Gabriel Saientz was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 29, 1973. He started studying music at the age of 6. Then at the age of 14 he started working professionally as a pianist/keyboardist playing in different bands, and making several TV appearances as well. In 1995 he was awarded a music scholarship and traveled to the States to expand his music studies in jazz performance at Miami-Dade Community College. Two years later, he won first place in a composition contest at MDCC. In 1998, he received an Outstanding Music Student Award from MDCC. A year after, he received another music scholarship at the University of Miami where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Studio Music and Jazz Performance with a 3.947 GPA and was included in the Honor Provost Roll and the National Dean's List.
He has played around the U.S. with different bands and performed with well renowned artists like Nestor Torres, Roberto Perera, Melton Mustafa, John Fedchock, Gary Campbell, Niki Yarling, Juan Areco, Jesse Jones Jr., Nicki Orta, John Williams, Carlomagno Araya, Heather Davis and many others. His versatility allowed him to also perform in some of the best big bands in town like Melton Mustafa's Orchestra, Claude Borneis Big Band, Lee Harris New Millennium Big Band, and Dennis Nodey Big Band. He also performed with others great jazz musicians in small ensembles like John Shapley's Octet, Lauren Daniel's Sextet, Ariana Hall, "For if The Flies" fusion Band. Gabriel also played with Dave Feder and his world famous Saltwater Blues Band. In the Latin scene he also worked with Miguel Cruz, "The Music Machine", Dayami Estevez, Juan Areco's Quartet, Brazilian Explosion, and Manolo Puerto among others. He also performed as a featured pianist in the Biltmore Hotel, the Lowes Hotel, the Marriot Hotel, Omni Collonade Hotel and several other venues. With several of the mentioned bands he toured and performed in Buenos Aires, Argentina; Rosario (Santa Fe), Argentina; Montevideo, Uruguay; Denver, CO; St. Louis, MO; Puerto Rico; Washington D.C.; Key West, FL; New York City, and other cities. He also played at the 17th annual NLC Jazz Festival; 4th, 5th and 6th annual BAYJAM festival; Lovefest 2000. In 2001, Gabriel organized a benefit concert in which he raised 1,000 dollars for the UM Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Recently, Gabriel has performed with several artists from Crescent Moon Records (Emilio Estefan) such us Shalim (#2 song on the Billboard charts), Jimena, MSM, Gianmarco, Gloria Estefan and with Thalia at the 4th annual Latin Grammys.
As a writer and producer Gabriel has also signed several deals with Muzak and Essential Music.
