Artist History
Voodoo Psyche started playing in January of 2001. Mark and Katie played in a band in high school. They started this band with Andy and put an ad in the paper for a drummer. Brian responded and Voodoo Psyche was formed. Sara (the violinist)was a friend of the band and was asked to join to make the sound more full. Katie and Taylor Veisz came up with the name of the band. It's a lyric from a Radiohead song and a Ronald Reagan plan "Voodoo Economics". It was too long for a name and they thought of psychology and Voodoo Psyche came about. The band began playing on open mic nights (Nyabinghi). As the months passed they began to progress to bigger bars (Cedars, the Bombshelter) formed a nice sized fan base. The longer the band stays together, the more they improve and mature as musicians. |
