Artist description Lead singer, songwriter and rhythm guitar player, James Downing, has been playing music for almost 7 years. James Downing started his musical career with the watsons, playing drums. The experience with this folk-pop group, helped James to realize his musical destination as a singer and songwriter. Picking up the guitar as often as he could, he built an arsenal of songs before leaving the watsons to pursue his own career in music. James turned to his close group of friends and called upon Jonathan Holt to keep the backbeat. Jonathan Holt’s music career started at a young age, keeping the cadence for the San Marcos Military Marching Band. Jonathan’s knowledge of the rudiment cadences and his love for Alex Van Halen, have molded him into a solid and established musician. John Ehlenbach was brought to us on referral from a good friend and die-hard fan of the project. John has played with other bands in his college days and was delighted to have an opportunity to re-visit his skills on bass. John’s bass playing provides the road map for the music. Combining his talent with that of Jonathan’s, only strengthens the sound. Tom Gerrow was the “undiscovered” in the band. His relationship with the guitar started out on the various air force bases that he once lived on as a child. He has spent a great many hours mastering his skill as a guitar player. Tom approached James when he heard about Jim Eastburn leaving the band. His invitation was granted and we have never looked back. The band was surprised to find out that this was Tom’s first official band project. Tom’s guitar playing works cohesively with the melodies written by James. The relationship created between the lead guitar and the song, generates a fresh and lively sound, appreciated by all the members of the band.

Artist History The alter ego to the former CassiusKing, Pleasurecraft was created in March of 2001. This pop-rock quartet has been playing for almost 4 years as the former CassiusKing, with the previous lead guitar player, Jim Eastburn. Jim left the band to pursue a life of film making, and we wish him all the best. Meanwhile, the remaining members of the band recruited the talents of Tom Gerrow. Tom was facing a big challenge, to fill the spaces left in the music when Jim left. With the addition of a new guitar player, and out of respect for Jim and a life that once was, the band changed to accommodate the new sounds brought in by Tom. The band in its most recent form has been together for only 7 months, but in that time they have redefined the sound that was once created by Pleasurcraft. Tom Gerrow brings to the band, a fresh and inviting style of guitar playing that enhances the melodies created by the lead singer and songwriter James Downing. With the help of one of the tightest rhythm sections in Austin, Jonathan Holt on drums and John Ehlenbach on bass, the band has elevated itself to a new level of musician ship and craft of sound. Only a short while ago, the band enlisted the help of Mark Appelman. Mark reinforces the Pleasurecraft sound with his expert knowledge of the mixing board and all it’s components. We are grateful for his dedications and talents.
