Artist description
Generally starting out as an organically grown jam, we sometimes add phantom production by cutting through the haze and/or delving into fungus rhythms... |

Artist History
Started on June 30, 2001, when collin westcott (drums) and Jay Peele (synths, guitar) decided to engage in a monumental jam... Why was this jam any different than previous jams the duo had engaged in? Perhaps a visit to the aquarium will set you straight... Earlier that June day, the duo were making fun of a quote in the Times Union by friend Paul Lapinki in which he says: "If you want to compete with the big boys, you want to sound like the big boys..." HA! Funny stuff, indead... The spelling reflects our deep philosophical side. The jam that took place on June 30, spawned much of the 'jousting with windmills' album. Brian Hicks (sax, flute) performed 1 take overdubbs over the stuff we'd already improvised... The rest of the album was recorded completely live on a night or two in July. We flew in Olin McArthur (synths) from da Bahama's especially for the medieval session... 'Supersized' is on the way... Perhaps we'll update... www.dabiggboyz.com |
