Artist description
Influenced by Jazz, Blues, odd time signatures,
and distortion knobs. Our music sometimes layers
waves of sound and other times we are chaotic and
staccato with heavy distortion. We like to change
moods mid song and sink into walls of sound.
It’s all about the energy…once we start to play
we can’t help but disappear into what we are
doing until it is over…then we are ready to
play some more. |

Artist History
"American School Of Warsaw"
With their debut release, American School Of Warsaw delivers 13 tracks of Brash, High Energy Indie Rock Music - where a Driving rhythm section crashes head-on into the wall of guitar riffs. These elements come together with Sean Moe's Vocal energy floating over the mass explosion of diesel powered Indie rock.
Drawing on disparate musical influences from jazz to heavy metal and classic rock to HIP-HOP, passion with an embrace of anxiety, oddity, and conflict. All of these elements take over in both literal and figurative means becoming the common thread running through the bands debut self titled/self release, American School Of Warsaw. Inspired by the fury of punk, the wild energy of Indie rock and the band's personal approach to songwriting and life experience.
The album was recorded by ASOW in various places in and around Seattle WA. The DEBUT ALBUM has a variety of sounds -- from the lead crunch of "COME APART" to the tinged aggression of "Theme From A.S.O.W." to the Yearning melodies of "Diablo Dam, Miles Above," and the favorite "Gray Sky". the Unique sound the band has created is so infectious that it's been embraced by both youthful music fanatics and Older fan base that grew up on bands like The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, and The Doors.

Yet another solid band to come out of Seattle! (What is it with that town anyway? Is there some sort of chemical in the water that stimulates the musical side of the brain?) Track 4, "Long Story Short", with it's upbeat sound, is a radio ready song that would be very palatable for the masses. Track 11, "A Machine"contrasts with its hard and ominous sound. Look out Live 105...
Favorite Track, "Long Story Short"
POWERGIG.COM Alternative Seattle band, American School of Warsaw, is planning to tour cross country in Spring 2004, and is currently booking for fall. Their energetic rhythms and hammering guitar wails and grinds are not as interesting as their lyrics, which lucky for the listener do NOT necessarily dwell on sex and teenage angst fueled by Clear Channel, but rather ASOW incorporates unique perspectives, irony, and even enlightenment in the songwriting. If their determination doesn't fail them, they are destined to go somewhere.
Don Campau KKUP 91.5FM in Cupertino California "Thanks for the hard rockin CD. Really enjoyed playing it on the radio…."
TABLET MAGAZINE (SEATTLE WA 12/26-01/08) "Epic Indie-style arrangements make up the bulk of what American School Of Warsaw has to offer, and they're quite good at it. But where this band really excels is at taking their skill and attention to detail and muscling out a raucous pop tune (keep an ear out for "Long Story Short"). By doing this, the band is able to show they don't take themselves quite as seriously as you'd initially believe, thus putting a spin on the majority of their straight-faced repertoire. "
Bandwidth "American School of Warsaw…Since joining forces just over one year ago, American School of Warsaw has quickly become a band to watch on the Seattle music scene. The group combines elements of indie rock with 1970s-era guitar riffs, resulting in a high-octane mix that nods to such acts as Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age."
1340mag.com - "How weird is this? I wasn’t even alive for the heyday of ‘70’s hard rock, but somehow this CD takes me back there anyway. Yeah, I don’t understand it either. Maybe it’s the vintage fuzz box guitar tones or the simple lyrics delivered simply or the big backbeats on the drums. I’m really not sure. But I can just hear this fitting right in with the hard rock bands the New York City kids snuck out to see in the dirty, smoky clubs in 1975, and you know what? I kinda like it. There’s nothing groundbreaking or extremely captivating about this record, but it wasn’t hard to listen to all the way through at all. If you like rock that was hard in the ‘70’s and isn’t afraid to just rock out and knock some stools over, this may be your band. A little ruckus here and a little yelling there, and you get a pretty consistent record. Fun stuff. " - Kent Walter
