Artist description
Lead singer/songwriter Jef Shocki's birth was heralded by a chorus of angels and the trumpeting of saints. When he wrote his first song, lotus blossoms sprang up about his feet, and for the three-and-a-half blessed minutes it took him to play it, peace descended upon the earth like a blanket of new-fallen snow. Ever since, he and a revolving lineup of musicians known as Sylphid have been on a quest to get the rest of the world (or maybe just the head of a major record label) to acknowledge the monumental force that is their music. So be prepared. Sylphid 'gon blow yo mind. They will rock you with tones so phat they can only be described as a force of nature, then commence bringing you to tears with lines of such beauteous melody they would rend even the hardest scenester's heart. So hip it's a crime, yet so emo it hurts... One thing is certain: Sylphid will change you. |

Started as a concept in Junior High and turned into reality not too long after. We've been together since 1996-ish and have been through many incarnations, however this one seems like it will last. |
