Artist History LedCube is Rodney Ledbetter. Trained in Classical percussion and jazz, Rodney has made his living as a professional drummer and educator for over 15 years, and has performed and toured with a very diverse list of artists and performers. As he continues to persue the performance side of his passion, LedCube has been producing an interesting blend of all his musical influences to......help feed his artistic passion. After meeting and working with a dance producer, Rodney decided that he just had to start getting his musical ideas in production and composition ON TAPE (if you will) and started putting together a small but powerful production studio. It was in 1998 that I had been working on a Roland XP80 workstation that someone I had been playing some tracks for said that, "Man that sounds like music that would come outta you!" I said, "Well this music did come outta me." It was then that I decided that I really need to get a sampler and some other "toys" and start focusing on some original music. His initial inclination was an interest in Jungle and drum-n-bass that was coming out of England at the time. But over the next several months was consistently being turned on to both overground and underground dance music...most namely "house". I'll have to admit that being a classically trained percussionist I was at a lost for words in my attraction to "club music". But it intrigued me to the point that I was absolutely addicted to it.
