Artist History
Rising from the ashes of New York City's pop-rock powerhouse Shamus McNasty, the Morning Sides strip the Shamus sound down to its gritty core. Spending the hot summer of 2001 playing in a Yonkers basement, the group revitalized itself and started working on what was to become their debut single, "the Summer Song b/w A Mole Hill Is A Mound" (due out March 6th on the Shape). The double A-Side 7", recorded by Walter Martin of the Walkmen, shows the band exploring two destinctly different styles while managing to create a unique sound all their own. Call it indie pop, call it neo-garage rock or just call it rock 'n roll. |
