Artist description
Cthulu is a very personal project for me. Music has always been one of my main creative outlets, so whatever emotion I am feeling at the time surfaces in the music that I make. My recording means are limited, but I am making a progression, getting better as I go and learning how to improve upon my previous experiences. Cthulu is meant to embody the creative spirit that I must constantly vent or go mad. The name, obviously, is in reference to the H.P. Lovecraft character of the same name. For those who are not familiar with the character, Cthulhu was the high priest of The Great Old Ones in the story "The Call of Cthulhu" by H.P. Lovecraft. Though he had a specific shape, he did not have to constantly assume that shape. Lovecraft commonly mentioned not being able to completely tell what Cthulhu looked like. The second "H" in Cthluhu was removed simply for originality purposes. The name is used frequently, but with this spelling there is far less of a chance of repetition. This is very much representative of my music. Though I frequently return to the basic premise of metal, I am not static in what I play. I am always incorporating new and different ideas and experiences into my music. You will see all sorts of stylistic influences well beyond the range of metal. Though I make my music exclusively for myself, it's always nice to hear that somebody else can enjoy my music as well. I am always open to input and feedback for my music, but I won't change anything unless it's something that I wanted to change anyway. Collaberation is something that I am open to, but I am a horrible taskmaster. I am very exacting in what I want in my music and many times that can be creatively stifling for another artist. It would be nice, however, to work together and create new ideas through the sharing of other original ideas. If anyone has any original creative ideas that they would like to collaberate on I would most certainly be open to them. You can contact me through the contact link on this page. |

Artist History
I have been playing the guitar for about 3 years now, and have taken 5 years worth of piano lessons in the past. I taught myself how to play the guitar, so I essentially play completely by ear. Sometime in the future I would perhaps like to learn what exactly I am doing, but I don't know when that will be. |

Group Members
Kevin (That would be me). Future collaberation all depends on the willingness of the participants to play the music that I want them to play. (Or at least the willingness to be able to make severe compromise). |
