Artist History
Everybodyís favorite biker folksinger Steve "Beatnik" Werner came onto the motorcycle scene in 1990, when he began working for Easyriders Magazine in Agoura Hills, California.
When the Producer of the Easyriders Video Magazine discovered Beatnik's musical talents, He quickly put the goateed one to work writing and singing songs for the videos.
If you've ever checked out the Easyriders Video Magazine you've seen and heard Steve. You've enjoyed his antics in comedy segments and especially his memorable music videos like Red Harley-Davidson, Giant Thing, the Zoo, King of Main Street, Hey Old Friend and the Sturgis Tango.
He was also co-host of the Sturgis 60th anniversary pay-per-view television special, and He
has traveled the world playing motorcycle runs and rallies big and small, biker bars and house concerts singing his songs about the freedom of the biker life. He is the true biker troubadour and has been called "the King of the Campfire Singers".
SO YA SAY HE PLAYS GUITAR OR SUMTHIN'?
Yep, you bet. Steve's actually a pretty well thought of Los Angeles guitar shredder and songwriter with 20 years of nightclub, touring, recording and TV work to his credit.
He was the founder of seminal L.A. Rockabilly outfit The Sleepwalkers and has traveled the wide world as Bandleader for some of rockabilly music's most cherished old-timers like Glen Glenn, Sonny Burgess (with D.J. Fontana), Johnny Legend, Ray Campi, Tony "Wildman" Conn, and Jimmy Angel. He has toured Europe, Japan and most of the USA.
His long and continuing association with American roots rocker John Whiteleather, (who has recorded classic versions of such Werner-penned songs as Cadillac Attack, Tequila Hangover, Slot-Car Party, Go Rat Go and All Drunked up) has brought him to tour Scandinavia many times as a featured guest with WHITELEATHER, his popular Sweden-based touring band.

Press Reviews
Can 16 songs sporting only voice and guitar knock your socks off and rattle your free spirit soul? YES...is the answer when it comes to Steve Werner's "Biker Campfire " CD. What a voice, and what a guitar! Full of biker attitude and believeable as hell. Pardon the pun, but Steve's production is so warm.......one really feels like they're sitting around a Biker's Campfire. Makes you wanna go out and buy a Harley.....and hit the road. A+++++

“Steve Werner is a talented songwriter and musician-Steve’s energetic guitar work is evident throughout the CD. King of Main Street, Scars, Red Harley-Davidson, Hey Old Friend and Biker Campfire, all make the listener want to go out, get on the bike and fulfill that wish to become a scooter tramp. Willie or Waylon could sing any of these and make hits out of them. But it is the wild, ribald, Sturgis Tango that takes the prize for being the most gleefully offensive, and the most evocative of the Sturgis experience. The listener gets the definite feeling that Steve has been there and done that"
--Wendell Perry, Thunder Press
"The title, "Biker Campfire," is a perfect title for this album. The lyrics are classic biker attitude. The music does have the potential to appeal to anyone who loves the folk/roots rock styles. Overall, this album has everything to make the latter part of the party the perfect ending. I enjoyed it a lot, and think that most others will as well."
