Artist History Jamm Studios was started in 1996 by Mike Moskowitz. Siince then, it has gone through a metamorphosis. First in 1998 Mike had a hip hop band signed. Deals with Tommy Boy Music and RED Distribution/Sony Records yielded mediocre results. After his stint with the hip hop industry, Mike decide to go back to his roots. Mike was raised on classic rock, with a modern bent in later years. However, one consistency in Mikes music style is the concept of improvisational solong. "That's why we are so attracted to playing Grateful Dead songs. The Dead has such a huge impact on our generation, and we want to pass this on to the future generations. Jamm studios is our facility to give the world free Jam Band music.", says Mike. "Currently we are independent, and we like it that way. The reason we are doing this is to try and spark a rekindling of the concept of a real band playing real improvisational music. There is a lot of one hit wonders and bad mistakes with a major lables that are more interested in a hit than an album. Here at JAMM we are interested in the musical experience, rather than the financial pay off." Jamm Studio's is a 2,000 square foot entertainment production facility. We specialize in producing Jam Band Music, as well as video and film production and engineering. The base of our system is a Pro Tools Mix 3 System. The main rehersal room is well outfitted with vintage instruments. The control room is priofessionally built and has a Genelec monitoring system. While trying to maintain a comfortable environment, Jamm Records is blazing the way of the future with our weekly simulcasts.The studio is now completely set up with three cameras and a video mixer. Check our events page for further information on times and dates of the simulcasts. The simulcasts are also available to download for 48 hours after the performance. Our goal is to enable you to vibe with us, via web casting. The studio is private and is not for rent.
