Artist History
Dave Back has been making music and music has been making him since the early days in Ventura. His first widely acclaimed band, The Killdaisies, headlined shows in California for luminaries such as Toad the Wet Sprocket and Primitive Radio Gods. When higher education lured Dave to Colorado, music called louder; he joined forces with Brooke Moen and began a three-year tour of Boulder's best open mic shows. The duo's pop-rock sound and he/she vocal harmonies drew dedicated fans and consistent crowds. But as Brooke headed to California upon college graduation, Dave continued to ride out the music continuum. He formed The Star-Free Press, released a full-length independent CD, and toured until he landed once again in music's irresistible clutches; in San Francisco, Doughnut Blonde was born. Dave and Brooke joined again, but this time formed a fresh new band with big hooks and a kiss of punk rock. Sensual, catchy vocals carried by energetic, raw musicality make Doughnut Blonde one to watch |
