Artist History
DISCOGRAPHY:
Damage (May, 2002) was the first released collection by Determined Souls.
Damage is more of a tribute than a continuing sound. Raw, painful tracks,
reflective of the human brutality that unfolded first in the US and echoing in the world
beyond. Damage's four tracks feature the hard driving weight of "Hate" and
"Machines Unleashed", the ambient journey of "Damage", and the mournful,
layered electronic sound of "Bitter Atmosphere". Damage combines both instrumental
and lyricized tracks.
World That Continues (Original Recording June - September 2001, Released May 2003)
was the first collection of songs by Determined Souls that remained archived until 2003.
Featuring an ethereal. midrange set of tracks that combine basic analog sounds with
sweeping, rich synthesizers and samples from across the globe, World That Continues
is a collection that reflects the immediacy of our conscious, physical lives, and that
which is left behind but revisits us in lonely but beautiful places, late at night. World
That Continues varies from harder, driving tactics such as "Hourglass", to trancelike,
spooky, elegant sounds such as in "Gone to the Beyond" and "The Bardo", as well as
slower, deeper, moodier, subtler sounds in "North Atlantic". World that Continues is
an entirely instrumental collection.
Threshold (June, 2003) is the third collection for release by Determined Souls.
An entirely lyrical collection, it opens with the epic "Threshold", featuring a waterfall
of sound, driving beats and a desperate atmosphere that is interwoven with messages of
lonely choice and difficult transitions. The collection varies from harder industrial
sounds with cynical treatments ("Faithbreaker") to radio friendly songs such as
"Strong Wings", and the sexually political but dancefloor beats in "Goddlesss".
Determined Souls has also been collaborating with contributors to Skinny Puppy's fan
tribute, "Same Vein", which is in the beginning stages of being assembled and mastered.
Determined Soul's contribution, "Rash Reflection (VileMTmix) is also available in
the downloadable collection.
LIVE PERFORMANCES:
