Artist History We're mind F*eds...there's been a word, wich has followed us from our very first realization of this world... NO. So thats how it became the name of the band: "NAUM" (something like "NOPE"). We sound as freaky heavy as our lifes beat. Using all the technology we can put our third world hands on, we provide fast heavy dancing drum and bass beat(you can put a lil tribal over it) add some extreme low guitar tunes, some power/percussive electric bass, and coplete the salad with sarcastic-ironic-realistic lyrics sang by Ana Paula (bombshell) and Johny DJL, that show clearly the influence the north american culture has reached over our language, the portuguese. we started out in 1997, as rodrigo and ivan got out together from a metal band. tired of repetition and bullshit-all-over-again-revival-kind of music we've been listening around... NAUM started as a project called MONKOFF, but had not much but a bounch of tapes of the most weaky experimental music we could figure and create (technologically incapabled by poverness)at that time... so we went on untill we find Johny DJL, who got the mic and sang... simple as that.(hes trying out new experiences in australia and writting new lyrics... he'll be back in july 2001)two songs came out of this stage, but only one was recorded by Johny(LEGIAO CARA DE PAU). Ivan sang the other (KARMA). We were very E-punk at this moment, and the songs reflected that.The next period was a black time for the band but we came out with good new songs from it (BEM MELHOR and the cover song for Tita's IGREJA) but was this dark times that brought us Ana Paula, wich sang the words that last... then came out some new cool stuff (PARANOIA TUPINIQUIM).We're now setting up for live gigs, recording the last fxs...and fixing all the teatral parafernalia we're planning to use on shows...
