    Artist description
Since their inception in 1999, Madwack has been gaining recognition throughout the New England local scene. Originating from the Northern Massachusetts, the band has been striving to captivate audiences with their energetic live performances. The five multifaceted musicians create aggressive outbursts and melodic harmonies that define the sound of this diversely layered group. Madwack released their anticipated three song promotional EP in early 2002. The EP was recorded and produced by multiple Grammy nominated, Andrew Schneider, who recorded and produced Godsmack's debut LP. Gaining recognition throughout the country and grabbing the attention of major record labels and promotional advocates, the EP has earned frequent spins on Boston's major radio stations and Internet web casts. "Madwack sets up some pretty cool sounding, aggressive metal with good twists and turns on their debut EP, especially the lead song, "Let Me Go."-Shred, DJ, 104.1WBCN. Madwack is currently writing new material for their much-anticipated second release while performing many shows all over New England.

05.25.02 DEEK & Heavy Diaper Productions Presented Madwack @ the Linwood, Boston, MA. "Madwack came out with their guns blazing. They eat razors and Piss Lava. They even covered "sic" by Slipknot with DJ and all. Very impressive." DEEK WBCN 104.1FM 08.24.02 MegaKungFu.com Showcase "Let me tell you a little bit about the band Madwack. To sum them up as people I would have to say they are trustworthy, and efficient. How many headlining bands will show up 5 hours before their set to set up a lighting kit? After getting everything situated they took off to the bar downstairs till the show began...Madwack came out and calmly whooped the crowd into a frenzy!... The word to describe Madwack's live set is passionate. You can see it in their eyes as they play. They want so much for the crowd to move and feed off their music. When a good pit bubbles over you can see a slight smile on all the band members faces. Also, they do a mean cover of Slipknot's "sic". Very well done! Huge things to come from these local yokels!" DEREK MEGAKUNGFU.COM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EP Review "MADWACK" sets up some pretty cool sounding, aggressive rock with good twists and turns on their debut EP, especially the lead song, "Let Me Go."Have a listen for yourself." SHRED WBCN 104.1FM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EP Review 7 OUT OF 10 When I first heard the name "Madwack" I thought Hip Hop! Forget it. Once you hear this shit your laughing at yourself for even thinking that this band could be a Nelly. Think Slipknot and Mudvayne when you think of Madwack! When I first listened to "Let Me Go" I was a little frustrated at how much it sounded like Slipknot. Song structure, drums, and vocals. But then again, to be able to imitate an established band like Slipknot is a huge notch on your bed post. In fact some of the guitar licks are pretty fucking mean! So it is well worth a listen or 20. Thankfully "You're Right" moves away from the Slipknot sound to a degree. Furious guitars supply the jabs, while Mike goes for the knockout punch with the screams. Lots of angst is the name of the game here. The bass rumbles along frantically till the chorus is the final knockout blow. Hard hitting and precise Madwack finds their sound on this tune. The Slipknot influences are apparent, but not dominant! "Holding On" is a mellower tune to start. Clear channel guitar strums while Mike sounds like a sick fuck singing with a irritated tone! The guitars take on a Tool sound till the band busts out the whooping stick and rocks hard. Drums hammer while killer break downs supply Mike the spark for a tantrum! The mellow shit returns to give pit people a break, but fear not the meat and potatoes return to rock your socks off again! Madwack is talented, no doubt! I would be interested to see these guys put a record out with a different producer. The band has their apparent influences, but the producer tried to hard to make them into Slipknot, not Madwack. The talent is there, it is up to the industry people now to harvest it!
