Artist History
Born in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, kinky dan lived a relatively dull life until the age of 14 3/4.
However, in his dull-ness, he started creating songs from an ancient program called 'Scream Tracker 3.2'.
Some people started to appreciate some of the music he was making, but that was as far as it went.
At the tender age of 16, he discovered that musical technology had advanced somewhat since his early musical-days, and started to play around with some of it.
The first proper song, of only 1:35 in length, was named 'Custard Pigeons'. This created interest in various friends of his, which spurred him to go further. (Thanks Joe & Dave!)
Since then he has created many bizarre songs, and some chilled out weirdness. However, every now and then, a good one come out, and you will be seeing them here!
His musical tallents recognised at last, 'Phygnosis' approached him to provide a vocal/sample track on their newest recording, 'Green Goblin'. This song proved to be highly successful, as there was no singing in it.
Continuing onwards and upwards, Phygnosis, renamed as 'Flatline', have initialised a musical venture named 'the.akira.project' based around a combination of early 90s dance, cheesey 80s metal guitars, funky acoustic samples and lots of sampled cartoons and old movies. Expect tracks from this area appearing in the very near future, and hopefully some live performances... |
