Artist History
What is now the raging Nu-Metal 5-piece band called Tragedy of the Wicked, had its humble beginnings as a 3-piece rapcore band called Christkore in September 2001. The bands earliest members met at a local venue quincedently called The Open Door which is exactly what happened. Doors opened up for the three young men, Jamie Morton ( Vocals/Guitar ), Joe Stowell ( Guitar) ,and Travis Clayton (Drums). That night they discussed there visions for a band to feed the masses with a message of hope, love, and faith. By early February a fourth member had joined the band, Kurt Morton (Bass). Soon after the addition they played there first show at a local Youth Fest. The band played shows throughout the summer of their first year gaining experience and getting recognition around the area. Midway through the summer a name change was decided upon due to the fact that the bands style had changed so much. The name Tragedy of the Wicked was selected from Psalm 73. In February of 2003 a fifth member was added to Tragedy's line up. An old friend, James Casebolt (Vocals/Keyboard) who was stopping by decided the band was worth him moving to the area to contribute his own abilities. Tragedy's music became a unique well molded wall of sound taking elements of Nu-Metal and Emo-core, and turning them into a passionette blast of positive energy. Though the style and the name have changed, the direction and friendship have not. From the beginning doors have constantly been opening for these five young men. Tragedy has become a force to be reckoned with, through prayers, hard work and practice. They're vision "Turn the eyes of the children back to they're father and save our dying generation. " |
