Artist description
ThinkTank is a hard-hitting, punk-fueled rock band composed of four distinct personalities creating a musically diverse adventure through sound. ThinkTank is intense, poetic, and fearlessly honest, weaving through a variety of genres and topics, steering dangerously close to the edge. ThinkTank has been well received in the LA music scene and continues to live up to its reputation for diverse music and highly galvanized performances. ThinkTank's first demo, recorded by Patrick Shevelin (2 Pac, Ozomatli, Fisher) in January 2002, is a boldly unabashed collection of songs. The listener is treated to the heartfelt lyrics and soaring guitars in the radio-ready "Why"; an intimate portrait of a child in an abusive home in "War of the Giants"; and the dignified rage of "Blood and Tears", which bravely asserts the damage done by oppressive religion. |

Artist History
Raised on classical music, CASSY PHOENIX developed a poetic ease and beatnik flavor hanging out at bookstores and coffee house in San Francisco among contemporaries of the late Allen Ginsberg. While engaged in writing and performing passionately outspoken music, Cassy started 'jamming' with guitar player and student social-activist BRETT WHITE. Cassy and Brett continued to develop their sound, blending piano, distorted guitars, politically outspoken lyrics and vocal harmonies in a band called zRave. KEITH LARSON met the duo during a camping trip to Joshua Tree National Park in 2000. Keith and Brett had both grown up in small town Wisconsin and had mutual high school friends. Eventually, after zRave dissolved, Keith took a leap of faith and joined up with Cassy and Brett to form ThinkTank - and the combination proved potent. Several bass players jammed with the trio as they sought the right person to finish the mix. It was not until TERESA COWLES, Cassy's long-time friend and former bass player of LA punk/pop trio dragsterbarbie, stepped forward that the ThinkTank chemistry was complete. |
