Artist description SMITTIN plays its own brand of melodic Rock 'n Roll songs that evoke a slew of emotions within the band and it's following. SMITTIN will have you rockin' out to driving guitars, pounding bass and slamming drums on one song then turn on a dime to warm acoustic guitars and tender vocal melodies that will make you smile, laugh and cry at the same time.

Artist History The roots of SMITTIN were planted about 6 years ago in a Los Angeles based band called Sonicasalt. This band featured the core songwriters of SMITTIN, Marla Sokoloff (vocals, rhythm guitar) and Mike Levy (lead guitar, background vocals). Mike and Marla parted ways in late 1996. Marla got a regular role on the critically acclaimed drama, The Practice, while Mike went 100 miles north to attend UC Santa Barbara. Contact between Marla and Mike was virtually lost until Marla tracked down Mike via e-mail. Mike finished school and returned to LA about 8 months ago, reunited with Marla and SMITTIN was born. SMITTIN has recently added a tremendous rhythm section of Jon Krupp and Jepson Staral to the line-up. Jon is an experienced engineer/producer/bass player who has been involved in numerous platinum recordings and Jepson is an accomplished songwriter who has been playing drums for over 20 years. All four members of SMITTIN are blessed with natural musical talent as well as a burning desire to make SMITTIN the hardest working rock band in LA.
