Artist description
The solo work of David Johnson is recorded material that falls outside of his main
interest, which is producing material for and putting together the modern rock band,
The Cursing Birds. In "Twice Told Tales of Two Cities", Johnson states that the 18
song, 2 disc collection of old songs "were written by an old friend, Jonathon Crowe,
who passed away before they could become known to the world." Crowe is, of course
a pseudonym, and the recordings deal with Johnson's expatriate experience in London
at the end of the 1980's in a personal, non-conformist, and literary way, including many
references to and reworkings of poetry by significant writers |
