Artist History
UNI has been evolving since 1997. Jon Mattox began the project as a duo with fellow drummer Shawn Nourse. They performed a series of shows around LA confounding audiences that drummers could actually create music (with keyboards, loops, trumpets, tapes, drums, electronic drums, and found objects. Soon the project expanded into a 'band' with changing lineups.Past UNI performers have included Mike Watt, Howard Ulyate, Bernard Yin, David Raven, Dave Goode, and Bob Boulding.As of late, UNI has a permanent lineup consisting of Bill Knight, Jon Mattox, Brian Cram, John Fumo, and Charley Waltz. They are currently playing around LA and working on a first ever studio recording. |
