Artist History
We got together in the spring of 1992 to jam at a club on the Venice Beach Boardwalk every Sunday afternoon. We all played music in multiple projects (often called bands) in Los Angeles. Afternoon shows evolved into afternoon/evening beach parties, and four years later The Sundowners were having more fun freedom than we were in the other things we were doing. We got a mailing list, band photos t-shirts, made a CD (Gas Mask), and voila! We're now a band! During the fall of 1996 we went to Finland and Sweden. Trips to the rest of Europe, Brazil, and Asia are in the works. In the meantime, we play two to five times a week in the LA area and we're looking for more. |

Press Reviews
August 11, 2003: We are very sad to say that Fran McDonald, lead guitarist and dearly loved friend, passed away at his home in California on August 8 or 9, 2003. He was found by a neighbor. He was a gentle, wise man, and one of the most gifted musicians we have ever known. May God rest his soul. He will be very missed and always remembered. |
