OUTBURN:
The industrial rock music of The Butterfly
Effect is dark and brooding with an exceptionally well
done Nine Inch Nails influence written all over it,
which is perhaps why I like it so much. Opening with
acoustic guitars and thundering sounds in the
background, the CD quickly moves into strong and angry
guitars with repetitive, infectious grooves. The
album has an overall electronic noise sound, as opposed
to the clean electronics of euro-techno bands, and Nux
Vomica has a definite industrial rock attitude. While
all the songs have a heavy sound, there is enough variety
and quieter moments to keep the album interesting and
listenable. The Butterfly Effect has created a good debut
album, and have the potential to do great things. Keep
an eye out for them. |
