Artist description
A six-piece German band takes an approach to Ska that broadens the genre with an injection of World Music. Multiple
layers of horns play a big part in expanding the parameters by blurting out short blasts that sound like Caribbean music
one moment, then playing longer notes reminiscent of Ska the next. The horn accents are reiterated by a singer who
more often than not comes off like the Ska version of Buster Poindexter. The flexibility of the back line with their ability
to shift gears from song to song plays an important role in keeping the groove danceable through the transitions. |

Press Reviews
Smother E-Zine:
These guys are great! Skaos makes me think of a German version of the
Toasters. I may get killed for saying this, but some of their songs are better
than Toasters songs in my opinion. Skaos is straight 3rd wave ska with a
few twists. There is the spy song, "I Spy", the poppy song, "Shout", and the
punker song, "Pass It Over." Some of my faves were "there she goes" which
sort of reminded me of Mephiskapheles meets the Toasters, "murderer" the
story-song of an insane guy who's mom didn't love him (isn't that everyone's
problem nowadays?), and "you better run" which featured sound clips from
Star Wars! Oh yes, these guys are good and have been around a while, so
check out the earlier stuff and the newer. Rock!
