Artist History
"Simon V" is an artist who has been active in the Internet underground for some time. His Drum'n'Bass tracks are released on the 'Santorin' label which is owned by him and his friend DJ Lightwood. He was the one, who thought it was about time, to publish Simon's tracks. As his music is played by DJs like Peshay, Bailey, Storm, Bassface Sascha, Kabuki and others, he quickly gained attention in the Drum'n'Bass world. At the end of 1998, he released his first real album titled "One Night". It featured 11 tracks which were significant for him over the last years. He was born in Stuttgart, Germany in 1979 and has been moving around in Germany with his family since then. He lives in Tübingen now - from where he spreads his vision throughout the world. His musical career started at the age of 11, when he got his first guitar and computer. Since then, there was no way one could hold him back from rocking the soundchips inside the machines. The results were more than 70 releases so far - in a variety of styles, systems and names. Most people may have known him as "Vivid", before he finally changed his name during 1998 (hopefully for good) to "Simon V". His interests aren't based on music alone, he's been working as a graphics artist and successful web designer as well. The future is uncertain. |

Press Reviews
Vinyl Network - Feburary 2000 (Santorin 004 - Rainclouds / Fruity) Germany's Santorin drop their fourth twelve of pure science, from breakbeat futurist Simon V. Though the sounds and beats are familiar the addition of an eerie synth pattern lends a much-missed feeling reminiscent of early T Power feel. A great deal more dynamic than the majority of UK output - check. (http://www.vinyl-net.com)www.simonv.com for more press reviews. |
