Artist description NiAS has gone the way of the steamship, typewriter, AMC Pacer, ATC, Hubba Bubba, Aspen, Summit, Pepsi Light, Intellivision, Beta, Handyman, etc. Meaning he is gone, obsolete, dead if you will. He passed on in North Las Vegas 2 years ago this Oct. 30 in a head-on collision with a cop car, of all things. His music will be forgotten as will he. Nias would like it no other way. He always said "The cops are more dangerous than drugs." He was right. According to people with him the night he died, he was peaking on 2 1/2 hits of X when he was killed and a nearly-empty 40 of Coors Light was found on the floor of the drivers side wedged between the clutch and the brake. NiAS was not at fault in the accident according to the LVPD since the cop (with no lights on, not even headlights)crossed the double line while chasing an armed robbery suspect who crossed the street in front of NiAS. The cop suffered a broken arm and required stiches on his forehead from the windshield. NiAS's surviving passenger, whose name was never released at the request of the person's agent for fear of bad publicity (she was in a movie that rhymes with The Shaft and she has really blue eyes and she's white and when a pitcher does something wrong that allows the runners to advance, that's her last name) was not seriously injured because she was wearing her seatbelt. The moral of the story is "stay away from cops".
