Artist History
The history of the Hodads dates back to the late 1980's, when two kids growing up in Lynchburg, Virginia, decided they should start a punk band. The first recordings were nothing but song parodies and little songlets that never quite got completed. As the two boys grew up and went off into the world, they encountered other music that shaped their conception of what music should be. The singer decided that he should emulate d. boon as much as possible, though we're not sure if he was ever successful. The drummer wanted to make sure everything was precise, his drumbeats over quartz measuring out time for all to bend and stretch. In 1998, the Hodads reformed in Arlington and recorded 15 hours of material in 15 months. This site contains the only remaining copies of Hodad material. |

Press Reviews
"This band makes no sense, and perhaps that is the point. Their music is alive with energy, alright. But it's akin to listening to a 3 gigawatt power station staffed by a cranky old man who still sounds young."- Codpiece... If you have any comments on the songs, feel free to send me an e-mail to discuss the role of music in society. |
