Artist History
South Bay of Los Angeles based, gymicrae started as "Jim McCray" a powerpop sidproject for the singer of hardcore band Shlumpf. It was to be the antethesis of the thrashy mean rock that Shlumpf put out, but only stayed so for about a year or two, when after the demise of Shlumpf, Jims need to vent angrily gradually took him over. Drummer and bassist changed and left us with the most recent incarnation, GYMICRAE. the actual life of the playing band was something like 1994-1998, but bassist Mike Peralta and Jim McCray still write and record, and are in the midst of starting playing out again. |
